The Big Scoop

The Golden Scoop Open golf tournament is fast approaching and in celebration of the event, we have created a uniquely midwestern dessert: Ooey Gooey Bunker Cake ice cream!  For those who don’t know what ooey gooey butter cake is (shame on you), it’s what happens when dense, buttery cake and cinnamon and nutmeg-spiced cream cheese go off for a romantic nighttime stroll in the park.  Your parents can explain it better than I can.

The Golden Scoop, as you might have picked up here and there, has a rather special relationship with sweets, and ooey gooey butter cake is the newest experimental addition to our robust lineup of sweet treats.  It’s only here for a limited time, so make sure you snag a bite before it’s gone!

For those of you who have managed to snag some of the birthday cake ice cream that The Golden Scoop rolls out each anniversary, you’ll find this deliciously similar in texture and flavor.  Chunks of butter cake are plentiful in every bite, and the cream cheese caramel swirls make a lovely compliment.  The butter cake is provided by Oh My Gooey KC, a women-owned KC bakery specializing in, you guessed it, gooey butter cakes (and other gooey baked goods).  We are very grateful for our partnership with them!
